The New York Mets lost to the Los Angeles 6-3 last night to drop their record to 31-41 and were swept in the four-game series. LHP Steven Matz got the start and allowed three runs on on three hits in six innings. Matz gave five walks, two home runs to Justin Turner and Enrique Hernandez, and had eight strikeouts. RHP Paul Sewald came in next in the bottom of the seventh and allowed a solo homer to Joc Peterson before getting out of the inning. LHP Jerry Blevins allowed two runs in the bottom of the eighth.
RF Curtis Granderson hit a leadoff homer for the second game in a row, and surpassed Jose Reyes for the leadoff homers in Mets history. Catcher Travis d'Arnaud also homered in the top of the fourth. 1B Lucas Duda added a RBI double in the top of the sixth.
