The New York Mets lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers 8-2 last night for their third consecutive loss and dropped their record to 31-40. RF Curtis Granderson got the Mets offense off and running with a lead-off homer in the top of the first inning. Granderson drove in the other run as well with a RBI double in the top of the ninth.
RHP Tyler Pill made his third start of the season and had a difficult outing. Pill allowed six runs (five earned) in six innings. He allowed three walks, two homers and had six strikeouts. RHP Neil Ramirez came in next and pitched a scoreless bottom of the seventh inning. Ramirez went back out for the bottom of the eighth and gave up two runs, two hits, and two walks, He was unable to finish the inning after recording two outs. RHP Erik Goedell followed to make his 2017 debut and recorded the last out in the bottom of the eighth inning.
