Mets vs. Padres Game 30 Recap
The New York Mets defeated the San Diego Padres 4-3 to split the 4 game series and to regain a 1/2 game lead in first place in the NL East. SS Asdrubral Cabrera had 2 key RBI singles both coming with 2 outs. 3B Eric Campbell also hit an RBI single. CF Yoenis Cespedes hit his 10th homer of the year. Mets starter RHP Matt Harvey had a much better outing today. He gave up 2 runs in 6 innings. He had 2 walks and a season high 10 strikeouts. His velocity was in the upper 90's topping out at 96 and 97. He is starting to look his old self. He had command of his fastball, curveball and changeup. He picked up his 3rd win. RHP Jim Henderson gave up a run in the 7th. LHP Antonio Bastardo got out of a based loaded no out jam in the 8th with 2 strikeouts and a popout. He had his best outing of the year. RHP Jeurys Familia got the Padres out in order to pick up his 10th save.
