Mets Acquire James Loney

According to ESPN reporter Adam Rubin, the New York Mets have acquired 1B James Loney from the San Diego Padres Triple A affiliate in El Paso, Texas. It is unclear whether this move was a trade or signing. Loney was hitting ,342 for the Padres in Triple A. He is a lifetime .303 hitter with runners in scoring position. He'll help improve the Mets hitting with men on base. This move will be a major upgrade for them at first base. Loney will platoon with Wilmer Flores and Eric Campbell will no longer be the starting first baseman,
