The Met offense was held scoreless for the first four innings and then came alive in the bottom of the fifth. LF Tyrone Taylor led off with a walk and then 2B Brett Bay followed with a single.
Catcher Francisco Alvarez then drove in Taylor with a RBI double and CF A.J. Ewing followed by driving in Baty with a sacrifice fly.
In the bottom of the seventh, Ewing walked with one out and then SS Francisco Lindor followed with a walk.
Two batters later, RF Carson Benge drove in Ewing with the game-winning RBI double.
Mets LHP Sean Manaea cruised through the first five innings with five scoreless innings and then gave up a two-run homer to 1B Matt Olson in the top of the sixth and was taken out after the inning.
Manaea's final line was six innings, five hits, two runs, two walks and four strikeouts.
RHP Huascar Brazoban followed with a scoreless top of the seventh. He picked up his fifth win.
RHP Luke Weaver came in next and threw another scoreless inning in the top of the eighth to lower his ERA to an incredible 1.88.
RHP Devin Williams closed it out with a scoreless top of the ninth to pick up his 15th save of the season.
The Mets next game is tonight in Game 2 of the doubleheader at 7:10 p.m.
