The New York Mets lost to the Milwaukee Brewers 3-2 tonight at American Family Field for their fifth consecutive loss and ninth out of their last 10 games and dropped their record to 63-53.

RHP Kodai Senga dominated through the first four innings allowing one hit, but then it all fell apart in the bottom of the fifth.

Senga made a fielding error to lead off the inning and then gave up a two-run homer to 2B Brice Turang.

Later in the inning, Senga gave up a walk and had a catcher interference and walked catcher Wilson Contreas to load the bases and was then taken out.

LHP Brooks Raley came in next and hit LF Isaac Collin on the foot to bring in a run, but was able to limit the damage and keep it a one-run game.

Senga's final line was 4.1 innings, two hits, three runs, three walks and two strikeouts.

Raley had 1.0 scoreless innings.

RHP Ryne Stanek picked up the last two outs in the bottom of the sixth.

LHP Gregory Soto threw a scoreless bottom of seventh.

RHP Tyler Rogers threw a scoreless bottom of the eighth.

In the top of the first, RF Juan Soto hit a solo homer.

In the top of the second, DH Starling Marte also hit a solo homer.

After a single by 2B Jeff McNeil in the top of the third, the Met offense did not do much until the top of the ninth after Marte doubled with two outs and then McNeil singled, but Marte was thrown out at the plate by CF Blake Perkins who filled in for Jackson Churio.

The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Saturday, August 9 at the Brewers at 7:10 p.m.
