The New York Mets are promoting their top pitching prospect RHP Jonah Tong.

Tong will make his ML debut on Friday night according to Mets manager Carlos Mendoza.

He was a seventh-round draft pitch in 2022 and has risen through the Mets minor league system quickly at every level.

Tong began the season with Double-A Binghamton and dominated with a 1.59 ERA and 162 strikeouts in 202 starts.

He was promoted to Triple-A Syracuse earlier this month and had 11.2 scoreless innings and 17 strikeouts.

Tong's repertoire features a blazing fastball which is his main pitch as well as a 12-6 curveball and slider.

He is compared to Giants great Tin Lincecum who he modeled his mechanics after.

It will be exciting to see Tong make his debut on Friday and hopefully provide a boost to the starting rotation.

With the success of RHP Nolan McLean since he has been called up, it will be fun to see Tong and McLean continue to grow and develop in the major leagues and potentially become top of the rotation starters for years to come.
