Mets Place Ronny Maurico on 10-Day Injured List With Thumb Fracture

The New York Mets have placed infielder Ronny Mauricio on the 10-day IL with a fractured left thumb after he slid head first into first base in the seventh inning on Saturday night's game.

Infielder Vidal Brujan has been called up from Triple-A Syracuse as corresponding roster.

Mauricio is expected to miss 6-8 weeks according to Mets manager Carlos Mendoza.
