Mets Lose To Nationals 11-6 And Carrasco Gets Crushed

 The New York Mets lost to the Washington Nationals 11-6 at Citi Field to snap their two-game winning streak and dropped their record to 49-55.

RHP Carlos Carrasco had an awful outing allowing eight runs on eight hits in 2.2 innings.

Carrasco gave up one walk and two strikeouts and his ERA went up to 6.40.

RHP Reed Garrett followed with 2.2 scoreless innings.

RHP Dominic Leone came in next and threw a scoreless top of the sixth.

RHP Drew Smith threw a scoreless top of the seventh.

RHP Trevor Gott threw a scoreless top of the eighth.

RHP Grant Hartwig gave up three runs in the top of the ninth.

3B Mark Vientos drove in the first run of the game with a RBI double in the bottom of the second.

LF Tommy Pham hit a solo homer in the bottom of the fourth and SS Francisco Lindor hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth.

Catcher Francisco Alvarez and Vientos hit back-to-back homers in the bottom of the ninth,

The Mets next game is tomorrow afternoon, Sunday, July 30 at home against the Nationals at 1:40 p.m.
