Mets Shutout By Dodgers 9-0 in Game 1 of NLCS After Senga Struggles And Offense Dominated By Flaherty

The New York Mets lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers 9-0 tonight in Game 1 of the NLCS at Dodger Stadium and are now down 1-0 in the series.

RHP Kodai Senga got off to a rough start in the bottom of the first walking RF Mookie Betts, 1B Freddie Freeman and LF Teoscar Hernandez to load the bases.

Two batters later, Senga allowed a two-run single to 3B Max Muncy.

Senga's struggled continued in the bottom of the second after he gave up a lead-off walk to 2B Gavin Lux and two batters later, a RBI single to DH Shohei Ohtani and was then taken out.

His final line was 1.1 innings, two hits, three runs and four walks.

RHP Reed Garrett followed and threw 1.1 scoreless innings.

LHP David Peterson came in next and had a difficult bottom of the fourth allowing three runs on a RBI single by SS Tommy Edman and then a RBI single to Ohtani.

Later in the inning, Peterson gave up a RBI single to Freeman.

Peterson threw a scoreless bottom of the fifth and was then taken out.

LHP Danny Young followed with 1.1 scoreless innings.

RHP Jose Butto came on in the bottom of the eighth and gave up a bases clearing double to Betts.

The Mets offense was shut down by RHP Jack Flaherty and managed only three hits for the entire game.

They went 0-3 with runners in scoring position leaving five runners on base.

The Mets next game is tomorrow afternoon, Monday, October 14 at the Dodgers at 4:08 p.m in Game 2 of the NLCS.
