Mets vs. Braves Game 2 Recap

The New York Mets lost to the Atlanta Braves 3-1 tonight in 12 innings to drop their record to 1-1. RHP Jacob deGrom made his first start of the season and pitched 6 scoreless innings. He gave up 2 hits and 1 walk. He had 6 strikeouts. He picked up a no-decision. RHP Hansel Robles came in next and gave up one run and was able to get one out in the top of the seventh. LHP Jerry Blevins followed and recorded the last two outs in the top of the seventh inning. RHP Fernando Sales pitched a scoreless top of the eighth inning. RHP Addison Reed had a scoreless top of the ninth inning. LHP Josh Edgin was the Mets sixth pitcher of the game and picked up a scoreless top of the tenth inning. RHP Rafael Montero came in the top of the eleventh inning and pitched a scoreless frame, but gave up 2 runs in the top of the twelfth inning. LHP Josh Edgin was the Mets final pitcher of the game and got the last out in the top of the twelfth.

The Mets offense struggled all night and managed just 5 hits. The only run they were able to score was a solo homer by RF Jay Bruce in the bottom of the fifth.
