Mets manager Luis Rojas (Photo Credits to Chris Simon) The New York Mets lost to the Atlanta Braves 5-0 in Atlanta at Truist Park this afternoon in their last game of the season and finished up with a record of 77-85. RHP Noah Syndergaard got the start and got into trouble in the bottom of the first after he gave up a lead-off homer to RF Jorge Soler and two batters a ground-rule double to 2B Ozzie Albies and a RBI single to the following hitter 3B Austin Riley and was taken out after the inning. His final line was 1 inning, 3 hits, 2 runs, 0 walks and 0 strikeouts. RHP Trevor Williams came in next and had a scoreless bottom of the second and retired the first two hitters he faced in the bottom of the third, but then walked Soler and gave up a single to 1B Freddie Freeman. Williams then gave up a RBI ground-out to Albies and a RBI double to Riley. Williams then gave up a RBI single to CF Adam Duvall and then was finally able to get out of the innong. Williams settled dwon after that with scoreless innings in the bottom of the fourth and fifth and was taken out after the fifth. His final line was 5 innings, 4 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. RHP Heath Hembree followed with scoreless bottom of the seventh. RHP Robert Gsellman threw a scoreless bottom of the eighth. The offense had only three hits all game and a total of four baserunners. Now that this season has concluded and ended on a disappointing note, it will be interesting to see how this offseason plays out. There are a lot of question marks starting with the next President of Baseball Operations as well as manager and the players on the roster. Thank you to everyone for reading and supporting my blog all season long. I will be posting in the offseason of the moves and changes with the Mets. Until next year, Let's Go Mets!
