Mets vs. Marlins Game 113 Recap

RHP Zack Wheeler

The New York Mets defeated the Miami Marlins 6-2 tonight and improved their record to 48-65. The offense was held scoreless for the first two innings, until LF Michael Conforto hit an RBI single in the top of the third inning. SS Amed Rosario hit a two-run single in the top of the sixth inning. Catcher Kevin Plawecki added a two-run single in the top of the ninth inning.

RHP Zack Wheeler had another terrific outing allowing two runs on four hits in seven innings. He gave up one walk and had eight strikeouts. Wheeler improved his record to 7-6 on the season and lowered his ERA to 3.82. RHP Seth Lugo came in next and threw a scoreless bottom of the eighth inning. RHP Drew Smith closed it out with a scoreless bottom of the ninth inning.

The Mets next game is tomorrow afternoon against the Marlins at 7:10 P.M.
