The Mets offense was held scoreless for the first nine innings wasting numerous scoring chances, but then finally broke through in the bottom of the tenth.
2B Marcus Semian led off with a hit by pitch and then pinch-hitter Mark Vientos followed with a single.
Catcher Luis Torrens then drove in Brett Baty with the tying run who started out on second base as the ghost runner.
In the bottom of the eleventh, 1B Jorge Polanco led off with a walk and then CF Luis Robert Jr came through with a three-run walk-off homer.
LHP David Peterson had a solid first debut with 5.1 scoreless innings. Peterson gave up six hits and two walks with three strikeouts.
RHP Huascar Brazoban followed with and picked up the last two outs in the top of the sixth.
RHP Luke Weaver threw a scoreless top of the seventh.
LHP Brooks Raley threw a scoreless top of the eighth.
RHP Devin Williams threw a scoreless top of the ninth.
RHP Luis Garcia gave up a run in the top of the tenth.
LHP Richard Lovelady gave up a run in the top of the 11th, but still managed to pick up his first win of the season.
The Mets next game is tomorrow afternoon, Sunday, March 29 at home against the Pirates at 1:40 p.m.
