Mets Hire Eric Chavez As Hitting Coach

Mets hitting coach Eric Chavez (Photo Credits to Charles Wenzelberg-NY Post) The New York Mets announced today that they have hired Eric Chavez as the new hitting coach. Chavez was just announced as the New York Yankees assistant hitting coach a couple of weeks ago. He was also special assistant to Yankees GM Brian Cashman in 2015 following his retirment as a player and then moved to the Los Angeles Angeles where he was special assistant to Mets GM and former Angels GM Billy Eppler through the 2020 season. Chavez had a stellar playing career winning six gloves at third base and also won one Sliver Slugger Awards and finished in top 30 of MVP voting four times with 230 career homers in 17 seasons with the Oakland Athletics, Arizona Diamondbacks and Yankees.
