Mets Sign Francisco Lindor to 10-Year, $341 Million Extension

Mets SS Francisco Lindor (Credits to MetsMerizedOnline.com) The New York Mets signed SS Francisco Lindor to a 10-year, $341 million extension tonight after back-and forth negotiations between Mets owner Steve Cohen, general manager Sandy Alderson and Lindor's agent. Lindor was acquired by the Mets earlier in the offseason back in January from the Cleveland Indians in exchange for infielders Amed Rosario, Andres Gimenez, outfield propsect Isaish Greene and pitching prospect Josh Wolf and was going to become a free agent after this season. He is one of the best players in baseball with four All-Star games, two Silver Slugger Awards, two Gold Gloves, as well as a Platnum Glove. Lindor's contract will start next season in 2022, so he is going to be getting paid $362.3 million which includes this year's contract according to MLB insider Jon Heyman. Heyman added that the contract comes with some deferrals. Lindor's contract is the largest in Mets history surpassing David Wright's, eight-year $138 million deal he signed prior to the 2013 season.
