The New York Mets announced today that they have selected the contract of infielder Brian Dozier as placing infielder Eduardo Nunez on the injured list, recalled reliever LHP Daniel Zamora and designated RHP Hunter Strickland for assignment. Nunez was diagnosed with a knee contusion after he stepped awkwardly on first base this season. He was 1-2 in two games with the Mets this year. Dozier was signed to a minor league contract earlier this month after he was released by the San Diego Padres. Dozier hit 20 homers with 20 doubles last year for the Washington Nationals. He had a .900 OPS against left-handed pitching in 2019 and has a .855 OPS against lefties in his career. Strickland signed a minor league deal with the Mets earlier this year and gave up three runs in 2 1/3 innings in three appearances. Zamora is making his return to the team and has a 4.08 ERA in 17 2/3 major league innings
