The New York Mets signed infielder Eduardo Escobar tonight to a two-year, $20 million deal with a third-year option. Last year, Escobar hit .254 with 28 homers and 90 runs batted in with the Arizona Diamondbacks and Milwaukee Brewers and was named to the 2021 National League All-Star team.
Escobar will play third base primarily, but is known for his versatility, and can play second baseman, shortstop as well the outfield.
This is a solid move and Esbobar will provide power and defense as well as the ability to play multiple positions.
