Mets Hire Billy Eppler As General Manager

Mets General Manager Billy Eppler (Photo Credits to MetsMerizedOnline.com) The New York Mets announced tonight that that officially hired Billy Eppler as their next general manager and gave him a four-year contract. Eppler was previously the general manager of the Los Angeles Angels from 2015-2020. Some of his most prominent moves with the Angels include signing pitcher/outfielder Shohei Ohtani and giving star outfielder Mike Trout a contract extension. While with the Angels, he also pulled over several trades bringing back players such as Andrelton Simmons, Max Stassi and Tommy La Stella. Prior to the Angels, Eppler worked for the New York Yankees where he began career there as a scout and was later promoted to director of professional scouting department. Eppler then worked his way to Assistant General Manager during the 2011-2012 offseason and worked with general manager Brian Cashman. He has a lot of work to imporve the franchise's major and minor league roster but he has the experience of running the front office and understands the pressure of working in New York.
