Mets Swept By Brewers 4-1 in Opening Series

The New York Mets lost to the Milwaukee Brewers 4-1 this afternoon at Citi Field and to swept in their opening series and dropped their record to 0-3.

RHP Tylor Megill got off to a tough start in the top of the first after he walked LF Christian Yelich who then stole second and then Megill gave up a RBI single to SS Willy Adames.

In the top of the second, Megill gave up another run on a RBI single by RF Jackson Chourino.

Megill had scoreless innings in the top of the third and fourth, and was taken out after the inning due to high pitch count.

His final line was 4.0 innings, three hits, two runs (one earned), three walks and four strikeouts.

Reliever RHP Yohan Ramirez followed and two runs in three innings.

RHP Drew Smith threw a scoreless top of the eighth.

LHP Brooks Raley threw a scoreless top of the ninth.

The Met offense struggled with men on base leaving eight runners on base and going 1-4 with runners in scoring position.

CF Tyrone Taylor drove in the only run with a RBI single in the bottom of the second.

The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Monday, April 1 at home against the Detroit Tigers at 7:10 p.m.
