The New York Mets signed DH J.D. Martinez to a one-year $12 million deal.
Martinez is coming off another fine season with a .271 batting average, 33 homers and 103 RBI for the Los Angeles Dodgers and was named to his sixth All-Star team.
He helps lengthen the Mets lineup and provides a much needed bat at DH in the middle of the order.
With the signing of Martinez, it will be interesting to see how Mark Vientos fits at DH and how he will get playing time and his share of at-bats.
