The New York Mets announced that RHP Justin Verlander has been placed on the injured list with a low-grade teres major strain.
Verlander will continue throwing at moderate intensity and will be reevaluated in a week.
RHP Tylor Megill will take his place in the rotation and make the start in Miami on Saturday and then the Mets home opener on Thursday, April 6.
