RHP Jeurys Familia

The New York Mets have signed reliever RHP Jeurys Familia for three years, $30 million. Familia was traded by the Mets to the Oakland Athletics for prospects reliever Bobby Wahl, third baseman Will Toffey, and $1 million in international slot money. He had a 3.13 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, 83 strikeouts and 18 saves in 72 innings between the Mets and A's. Familia might be the set-up man this year to new closer Edwin Diaz. He could also serve as a closer in certain situations to help give Diaz some rest.
