Mets vs. Brewers Game 61 Recap

The New York Mets lost to the Milwaukee Brewers today 7-4 to end their 3 game winning streak and drop their record to 34-27. RHP Logan Verrett got the spot start today and gave up 5 runs in only 4 innings. Verrett allowed 4 hits with 4 walks and allowed 3 home runs. He wasn't able to go deep into the game and gave the bullpen some rest. Hopefully Verrett bounces back from this start. He's a valuable member of the team due to his ability to pitch out of the bullpen and fill in as a starter occasionally. After Verrett was taken out. RHP Hansel Robles came in and threw two scoreless innings. LHP Antonio Bastardo came in in the seventh inning and gave up back to back homers to Scooter Gennett and Ryan Bruan. RF Curtis Granderson had 3 hits and was a double short of the cycle. He also hit a solo homer in addition to a single and triple. SS Asdrubal Cabrera hit a 2 run homer. 3B Wilmer Flores hit a sacrifice fly in ninth inning.
