Mets Hire Buck Showalter As Next Manager

Mets manager Buck Showalter (Photo Credits to Getty Images) New York Mets owner Steve Cohen announced today on Twitter that they have hired mananger Buck Showalter to a three-year contract. Showalter has been a Major League manager since 1992 and previosuly managaed the New York Yankees, Arizona Diamondbacks, Texas Rangers and Baltimore Orioles. He helped lead the Yankees to the playoffs in 1995 as well as the Dimaondbacks in 1999 and the Orioles in 2012, 2014, and 2016. Showalter was also named Manager of the Year three times in 1994, 2004 and 2014. He brings a lot of experience and credibility to a win now team that has already has made several key moves this offseason including signing RHP Max Scherzer, OF Starling Marte, 3B Eduardo Escobar and OF Mark Canha. This hire shows the Mets are going for it this season and are ready to compete for a World Series championship.
