Showalter was hired prior to the 2022 season and helped lead the Mets to a 101-win season which was the second most wins in franchise history before losing to the San Diego Padres in the wild card round.
This season however was a much different story and the team ended up with a record under .500 after coming into the season with World Series expectations.
The Mets are announcing the hiring of David Stearns as the new President Baseball of Operations tomorrow and there are rumors that he might bring in Craig Counsell as manager.
