Mets Pick Up Jerry Blevins's Option

The New York Mets announced today that they picked up LHP Jerry Blevins $7 million option for the 2018 season. Last year, Blevins ended up with a 2.94 ERA, 3.12 FIP, and a .228 BAA along with 69 strikeouts in 49.0 innings. Against left-handed hitters, he held them to a .195 average and .202 slugging percentage with 48 strikeouts in 34 innings. Blevins was acquired from the Washington Nationals in 2015 after he was traded for CF Matt den Decker.
