Mets Acquire Tyler Clippard

The Mets announced today that they have acquired reliever Tyler Clippard from the Oakland A's in exchange for minor league pitcher Corey Meisner. The Mets received $ 1 million from the A's in cash.  Eric Goeddel was placed on 60 day DL as corresponding roster move. Clippard is a 2 time All-Star  who is having another solid season with 17 saves and a 2.79 ERA. He has 38 strikeouts in 38.2 innings. This will another huge acquisition for the Mets since they have now a set up man for Jeurys Familia. It makes the bullpen even stronger in addition to having Bobby Parnell and Jenrry Meija as options in the 7th inning.
