Mets Hire Troy Snitker As Hitting Coach

The New York Mets announced today that they have hired Troy Snitker, the son of Braves manager Brian Snitker as their hitting coach.

Snitker was the Houston Astros hitting coach from 2019-2025 and was fired earlier in the offseason after the Astros were ranked 21st in runs scored, tied for 16th in homers and 23th in batting average with runners in scoring position.

He began his professional coaching career in 2016 as the Astros rehab coordinator and in 2017 was the Single-A Buies Creek Astros and then had a promotion to Double-A Corpus Christi.
