Mets Re-Sign Reliever Adam Ottavino

 The New York Mets have re-signed reliever RHP Adam Ottavino on a one-year deal for $4.5 million.

Ottavino has posted a 2.62 ERA, 10 K/9, and 3.2 BB/9 in 127 2/3 innings for the Mets over the last two seasons with 12 saves last season.

He is a much needed addition to the bullpen and will help serve as a set up man to closer RHP Edwin Diaz.

Mets Sign LHP Sean Manaea To Two-Year Deal

 The New York Mets signed LHP Sean Manaea to a two-year $28 million deal which includes a player option for the 2024 season.

Manaea had a 4.44 ERA with the San Francisco Giants last year in 117 2/3 innings with 10 starts and 27 appearances out of the bullpen.

He made 28 starts in 30 appearances during the 2022 season with a 4.96 ERA.

Manaea became a full-time starter in 2021.

He will pegged into the rotation as a 4th-5th starter and is a good option as a back-end starting pitcher and adds depth to the starting rotation along with RHP Tylor Megill and Jose Butto.

With Manaea in the rotation,

the Mets rotation currently stands as:

1. Kodai Senga

2. Luis Severino

3. Jose Quintana

4. Sean Manaea

5. Adam Houser

Mets Sign Center Fielder Harrison Bader

 The New York Mets signed CF Harrison Bader to a one-year $10.5 million deal.

Bader is known as a strong defender and also hits well against left-handed pitching with a .936 OPS in 2023 and .824 for his career.

He has had difficulty staying healthy the last two years missing 140 games.

Last year with the Yankees he hit .240 with seven homers and 37 runs batted in.

 Bader will play a key role in the Mets outfield with his defense and help add depth to the outfield along with Brandon Nimmo, Starling Marte, DJ Stewart, Tyrone Taylor as well as Jeff McNeil.
