Robinson Cano Suspended for Entire 2021 Season after second positive PED test

Mets 2B Robinson Cano (Credits to MetsMerizedOnline.com) New York Mets 2B Robinson Cano has been suspended for the entire 2021 season due to testing posiitve for performance enchancing drug Stanozolol. Cano was previously suspended in 2018 while on the Seattle Mariners for also testing posiitve for PEDs. He loses $24 million this year that he was owed by the Mets for the upcoming season. Neither the Mets or Mariners will have to Cano this year. Now with Cano gone for the season, it allows Jeff McNeil to go back to his natural position at second base or bring in somewhere else. It gives more depth and options on the field and helps give stronger defense and more athleticism up the middle.

New York Mets RHP Marcus Stroman Accepts Qualifying Offer from Mets

New York Mets RHP Marcus Stroman (Credits to MetsMerizedOnline.com) New York Mets RHP Marcus Stroman has accepted the one-year qualifying offer for next season 2021 from the team and will return next year as a member of the starting rotation. The qualifying offer is valaued at $18.9 million. Stroman didn't pitch at all this past season after his season was delayed at the start due to an injury and then decided to opt out on August 10 due to COVID-19 concerns. He was traded over to the Mets from the Toronto Blue Jays in July 2019 for prospects LHP Anthony Kay and RHP Simeon Woods Richardson. Stroman went 4-2 with a 3.71 ERA, 4.15 ERA, and 9.1 K/9 in 59 innings for the Mets in 2019.

Mets GM Brodie Wageren, Special Assistant to the GM Omar Minaya and three others to leave Met organization

Mets GM Brodie Wagaren (Credits to MetsMerizedOnline.com) New York Mets new team president Sandy Alderson announced today that GM Brodie Wagaren, special assistant to the GM Omar Minaya and front office personnel Adam Guttridge, Allard Baird and Jared Banner are all leaving the organization. This news comes right after the sale to new team owner Steve Cohen became official today.

Steve Cohen Ownership Deal is Complete

Mets Owner Steve Cohen (Credits to MetsMerizedOnline.com) New York Mets owner Steve Cohen deal to buy the team has been finalized and completed today and it is now official. He is now the majority owner. A press conference is likely scheduled for Tuesday.
