New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio tweeted this afternoon that the New York City Law Department finished their legal review of the sale of the New York Mets to Steve Cohen and they found no objections. De Blasio said the team can now go forward with the sale of the team.

Today Major League Baseball (MLB) owners voted and approved Steve Cohen's bid to become the new owner of the New York Mets. Cohen has a net worth. of $14 milion. He will now wait for the approval of New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio office before he can become offically take over control as the owner of team. DeBlasio said on Thursday that his law department is evalulating the sale because New York City is on the Citi Field lease and they are just doung a routine evalulation. The evalution is close to being completed.
