New York Mets Manager Terry Collins said today that LHP Steven Matz will be shutdown for three weeks after he experienced irritation in his left elbow during two pitching sessions on Monday and Tuesday. Matz had an MRI on his left elbow and the results came back negative. Hopefully Matz will be able to join the rotation in the next few weeks and be able to stay healthy for the rest of the season.
