Mets Crush Giants 10-3 Powered By Two Homers From Francisco Alvarez and 3 RBI from Marcus Semian

The New York Mets beat the San Francisco Giants 10-3 tonight at Oracle Park to snap their three-game losing streak and improved their record to 4-4.

The Met offense got off to a fast start in the top of the first after SS Francisco Lindor led off with a single and then LF Juan Soto followed with a single. 3B Bo Bichette then drove in Lindor with a RBI single and then CF Luis Robert Jr followed with a walk 

1B Brett Baty followed by grounding into a double play and DH Mark Vientos walked. 2B Marcus Semian followed by driving in Bichette with a RBI single. After the top of the first, Soto was replaced by Tyrone Taylor after he suffered a tight right calf when running from first to third.

The offense was held scoreless for the next two innings until the top of the fourth after Vientos led off with a single and Semian followed with a two-run homer. Two batters later, catcher Francisco Alvarez hit a solo homer.

In the top of the seventh, Alvarez led off with a homer, his second of the night and Lindor followed with a walk. Two batters later, Bichette doubled to advance Lindor to third. Robert Jr followed with a RBI single. Two batters later, Vientos drove in Bichette with a RBI single.

In the top of the ninth, Robert Jr led off with a walk and Baty followed with a double. Two batters later, Semian singled to advance Baty to third and then RF Carson Benge grounded into a fielder's choice to score Baty.

RHP Nolan McLean dominated through the first five innings with five perfect innings until the bottom of the sixth after he walked CF Harrison Bader and catcher Patrick Bailey to start the inning. After a fly out, McLean gave up a RBI ground-rule double to SS Willy Adames and was then taken out.

LHP Brooks Raley came in next and struck out DH Rafael Devers and then gave up a run after Alvarez committed a passed ball.

Raley then retired 2B Luis Arraez on a ground-out to end the inning.

McLean's final line was 5.1 innings, one hit, two runs (one earned), two walks and four strikeouts.

RHP Huascar Brazoban followed with a scoreless bottom of the seventh.

LHP Richard Lovelady came in next and gave up a run in the bottom of the eighth.

RHP Luis Garcia closed it out with a scoreless bottom of the ninth.

The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Saturday, April 4 at the Giants at 9:05 p.m.
